The cockles are fished in the Wadden Sea by means of hand brackets.
This fishing makes it possible to transport the cockles to Seafarm and to have them rest with us. We call it resting “watering”, this takes about 20 to 40 hours, as a result the animals spit out the sand, which ensures that we can guarantee a fresh and practically sand-free product. Cockles 100% sand-free is not possible.
By storing the cockles in saline spring water, we can therefore pack a daily fresh order as required at any time
We try to feed a number of sizes of cockles, but this saves every year because we depend on seed drop and areas where fishing is allowed or not. The sizes are: 40/60, 60/80, 80/100 and 100/120 pieces per kilo. The cockles can be packed in the following polystyrene boxes, if necessary. combinations can also be made between different shellfish in the poly box.
- 3×1 kg / box
- 5×1 kg / box
- 6×1 kg / box
- 10×1 kg / box
